Let’s talk foliage.

My feed has been filled with Christmas Wreaths, Workshops & kits over the last week at vastly different prices ranging from £25-£165. It’s hard to understand how there can be such a huge difference between wreaths apart from the obvious size options. So I thought I’d jump on here and explain a little more about our wreaths. No judgement on what anyone chooses to spend their hard earned money on, just info.
Our wreaths are made on moss bases which we string together ourselves from moss gathered legally in Thetford by a local supplier.
Our foliage is home or locally grown, not flown or imported. And while it would be easier to buy in and have it arrive on our doorstep in sacks, pre-cut & ready to use we like to cut our own foliage as & when we need it. That way it’s super fresh & lasts much longer. It might seem a more cost effective option but the labour involved in cutting, trimming and sorting the foliage in huge (who really wants to be up a tree cutting holly in the rain?). And there’s also a limited amount available as we need elements like the eucalyptus for our dried flowers throughout the year, so we have to think about how many wreaths we can realistically make.
